I want to take the 186 cast heads off my truck and install a set of 283 power pac heads.
I measured the chambers on each set and the power pac heads are 2 cc's smaller.I know my compression would go up a little, but I am more concerned with gaining fuel milage and torque. The 186's have been fully ported and pollished, pocket ported,3 angle valve job,cc'd and have Manley Pro Flow,1.94 and 1.50 Valves.
The power pac heads have only been gasket matched and have factory size valves.1.84 and 1.50.
Or am I just mis- matched.:confused:Cam is a Comp.cams XE256H.212 and 218 dur.@.050.with .447 and .454 lift.on a 110 LSA.I'm using 1-1/2" primary size headers with 2" dual exhaust.Intake is a Edelbrock Performer and a Holley 600 vac.sec.It has 68 primary jets and a .031 squirter.350 Turbo trans,no stall,and 3.42 gears. Block is a 72, 355,with dish pistons.Oh and this is in my 83 Silverado.
Thank you.
