I was goin to run the xe284 hdryaulic in my 406 with 10.5:1 and iron eagle platinum 215cc heads.

I saw some retro fit solid roller lifters and a cam button in my area for $185.

Its a everyday driven car. I dont want to spin past 6500 rpm, and want to make as much power as possible but still have a good low end torque and enough power to pull overdrive with 3.73-4.10 gears. (~3000 conveter)

What does it take to run a roller cam in a old block? Do I need a different timing chain? Would it be worth it to convert to the solid roller? Is it like a flattappet solid and gotta adjust the valves every now and then when drivin everyday?

You need a cam button to run a solid roller in a block, same timing chain, and you should check your lash everytime you change your oil. What I didn't like about my solid roller the valve spring seat pressures were on the high side, which I found my valve guides and roller rocker life was very short. I used a Crower Street roller part# 0425 in my small block, rpm range was 2500-6500. The idle quality was nice it had a 112 lsa.

Solid roller on the street.....yes. With $185.00 lifters NO.
I would stick with a flat tappet if it is an everyday car.
If you want a roller go hydraulic roller.
