As i am looking into "supping" up the 402 with a voodoo 268 cam kit, is it worth buying beehive springs or would that be overkill? ALso was recommended Crane Gold rocker arms and different push rods when re-doing my 402 heads. Suggestions? Is it worth upgrading all that (going all out) or putting money into porting, valves, etc...Hernan

the beehive's would be a waste for your combo i think.
i would use some new pushrods though,
and roller rockers are nice but you could use the stock style(long slot type).
upgrading to a quality undercut stem valve is a good move to increase CFM.

It's "souping"..

You will be fine with just stock 3/8" p/r's and guide plates and a set of long slot stock type rockers unless you want to buy CC's Magnum roller tip cast steel jobbers b/c they are darn uniform in lift ratio!

And a new set of valve springs to match that cam.

No need to hop it up here is all, imho..

Put the money into "bowl-blending" and "dingle-berry" casting flash port cleaning-up of the heads and a five-angle valve job instead..

The complete engine is new, trying to vest my money wisely in order to get some more HP out of it and of course, put the $$$ where it counts when there is a budget. Heads, valve angle-bowl-port, Crane Gold rocker arms, molley P/R's, springs. Run the Voodoo 268 cams and lifters. 3.55 gears on the 12 bolt Posi. Intake and either a 750 or 770 Holley with 2" or 1 7/8" headers. Have 21 Muncie (large spline). Will be changing wheels to 18's. What do the "guru's" say??? Boy am i excited to start getting my hands all greased up!
