Car started with an unbalanced rebuild of a 350 with Tuned Port Injection, Comp XE 262 cam, and big valves in 416 casting heads. Ran 14.0 @ 97.75

Put on Pro Topline 200cc Iron heads, and a Holley Stealth Ram, ran 14.1 @ 97.

Replaced the 700R4 with a TH350 and slightly better than stock stall and went 13.7 @ 101.1.

Rebuilt the engine again, balanced, etc 3000rpm stall, Lunati Solid 239/247 @.050 cam ran 13.33@106.2

Just finished installing 3.73 gears and Posi (Up from a warn auburn posi and 3.23 gears) Ran 13.06@106.95!!! A new best

Timeslip as follows:

60ft 2.012
330ft 5.552
1/8th 8.44
1/8 mph 84.9
1000ft 10.95
1/4ET 13.066
MPH 106.95

Going to put some non sagging springs on the back, drag shocks, try a little bit different timing and I hope for 12's before the track closes on halloween!

Next year I'll have a bigger Throttle Body and Drag Radials to pray for that 11.9 pass!

Thanks for all the engine support/help guys! I'm gettin there! graemlins/hurray.gif

Good Job!

What's your CR? Does it run on pump gas?

What's the rest of the cam specs?

Thanks.

Thanks guys! The compression is about 9.8:1, dynamic is 8.2ish. Runs fine on 92octane with 30deg idle timing and total of 36deg in by 3000.

Cam is a Lunati Solid Tappet: .544/.565 lift w/ my 1.6 rockers. 267/275adv, 239/247@.050 on 112lsa, installed on a 106CL.

I don't have the knock sensor hooked up or I'd try 89octane.

I like your combo, I have a similiar one- A few questions about your cam choice tho-

How is the drivability and 5th gear highway responsiveness with that big of a cam? How is the idle and vacuum for brakes?

Thanks for all the help and congrats on the new bests...get her to hook up and you'll see 12s easy.

Its actually not a very big cam, because it's solid. The ADV duration indicates that. I idle at 750 in gear and have no braking problems, should you ever encounter a problem, always downshift, it forces a high vacuum and helps slow the car down.

I don't have 5th gear, its a TH350 with 3.73 gears I cruise at 3300 rpm at 60mph with 24.8"dia tires. It's very responsive everywhere because of the tunability of the Commander 950.

Nice time graemlins/thumbsup.gif
What car is this in? Weight?
You got low 12's in that car if you get a 1.7X 60 ft. out of it

redface.gif ) Thanks for the kind words!

It's an '87 Iroc-z. Weighs 3750 with me in it and 3/4tank. Full street trim. Even leaving the amps/subwoofer in the back. Always been a goal of mine to be low 12's (11's would be SWEEET though) without taking anything out!

Think I may be trying the new Hoosier dot slicks next season. Seen lots of people with the DOT M/T slicks run sub 1.7 60s with those tires and very little suspension work.
