I have a SBC 400 with a "MILODON DIAMOND STRIPPER" WINDAGE TRAY. I heard it needed a little messaging to get it to fit with enlarging the studs holes. Now the problem that I have is my ARP Studs designed for windage tray only have 5 long studs on main cap 3, 4, and 5 (rear main cap). The Diamond Stripper tray has 7 holes. Will it be feasible to mismatch the Milodon Studs kit with the ARP Studs?
Next Situation
The Windage tray end that is suppose to mount to the Stud on the Rear Main Oil Pump Cap is centered over the oil pump stud. Has anyone using this windage tray on a 400 drill a hole to match the stud on the main cap or used the oil pump stud to mount the tray. If anyone have any pictures of this modification on a SBC 400 please post or provide a link.
Thanks: David

You probably could call ARP and buy just a couple of studs, nuts, and washers. They're pretty easy to deal with. If you do mix-n-match, follow each mfr.'s installation and torque instructions for their stud/nut and be sure you align hone it with the stud combo you're going to run.
For clearance, just get it as close to the crank as you can, be sure it doesn't hit the crank or rods when you turn them, and make sure the oil pan will fit and not push the tray into the crank or rods when you bolt it down. Usually there's a certain amount of hand fitting involved.

when i was researching this for my engine (although i didnot use THAT screen) i was told to use the 5 Z28 bolts (they have the stand offs for the screen) along with the standard main bolts. i ended up with a dart block so things changed. Dave

I seems like guys have to modify these things a lot to fit.
I had to grind down my studs a lot to fit the pan.
Make sure you can place the pan flat on the block or you will probably have a oil leak.
I have a BBC which had a hole to mount the tray tto the oil pump stud. I also had the hog out the hole a bit to get it to work.

I also run the Milodon Diamond Stripper but decided not to use the last hole since it was so far off from my pump stud once I tweaked it to fit the stroker crank and pan rails. I simply ground that end down far enough so it would not interfere with pump stud.
