Hey again...So remember me? :D :D Track times (http://www.chevelles.com/cgi-bin/forum/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/4/21084.html?#000000)
My friend works at a speed shop, his boss said he would give me a 5000 stall converter from TCI for 200 bucks.. I jumped all over it. Also he is offering me a Trans Brake for $150 from TCI or ATI, not sure which. I dont know if my car would handle a trans brake, i'm deff going to have to get another driveshaft, i know the stock one wont hold up anymore with a TB.
I'm still thinking of going to a taller tire. Anyone with a 68-72 nova out there? How tall of a tire can you get under there? I'
m hoping the converter will get me into the 11s now. My old one is deff smaller than hoped. more like 3500.. This winter i'm going with 2.05 brodix heads from my builder. Now i'm scared my th350 wont last....
Any suggestions from the car gods?

Your spinning in your 60ft's, work on hooking up and your et's will drop.
If you can't hook the car with your present converter A looser one will not help and will be even looser with spray.
Your cam is too big look for something in the mid 240° range, this will work better with your present cyl heads and torque converter.

I'm running low 12's now and hope to hit the 11's when the air cools down. I'm running less motor, less gear and more than likely a heavier car than you are. I feel if you spend more test and tune time with what you have you'll see 11's.

I think you should be doing better with what you have. How is the fuel system? does the car lay down in high gear? The Brodix heads should help a bunch. How is the exhaust system, any restrictions there?

Fuel system is a stock tank with a holley blue pump, 1/2 steel braided line from tank to carb in high gear it stays at 6psi down the track. Exhaust is Hookers into 3 inch pipes, into 3 inch flowmasters, then dumps at the rear. Could my heads be killing me that much? I mean where my cam makes its power 4700-7200 could my heads be falling off? They are basically stock with porting.

It probably is the heads. Stock heads would likely need a lot of porting to work with your cam. You might want to try the 5000 converter.

What fuel are you using? You could be getting higher rpm detonation. Your cam seems on the small side for your CR. Pull a plug and, using a high power magnifying glass, look for tiny black specks. Those are bit of the piston tops blown off by detonation.

If the motor is actually still pulling well at 7200 then the convertor will help but you will only increase your traction problems.

As far as the cam goes, i cant get any bigger in there because of valve to piston clearance.
I run C16 or Cam 2 for gas. And it pulls up to 7200 but doesnt feel like it wants to pull much more than that. I'm hoping my heads are that bad, beause i wish this motor would pull lik it should.
