Hi everyone! I took the headlights and all the hardware off the firewall of my 70' El Camino when I was getting it ready for paint. Now, for some reason, I can't get them back on. I have the headlights attatched to the buckets and I have the adjustment screws. I plug the headlight in, put it in its place and use the adjustment screws to secure it in, but they don't stay in their place. The little hooks on the buckets where the adjustment screws secure it, don't secure it. They wobble or one hook comes off the screw. I've played with it for hours and haven't had any luck. shouldn't there be two screws and a spring on each headlight...Yes?
(I dont remeber but I could go look at my 69)...

There are the two alignment screws and a sping, which I don't have. The spring shouldn't effect the mounting though.

Yep the spring is CRITICAL to the mounting of the headlight. Gotta have them. Not going to stay in without it.

It takes 3 points to locate a plane. Those screws only provide 2 points.
