The title says it all, I've had the sportman pros, and I can't afford to loose any traction. I'm getting a 1.9 60 ft now easing into it slowly so I don't blow them off. I know there is probably better but I can get these locally and I need something that the cops will leave me alone. They seem to bother the guys running ET streets and stuff.
The Sportsman Pros are 29-12.5-15
The BFG Drag Radials are 315/60/15
Thanks

Rapid Robert, did you just say that you bought BFG Drag Radials from Walmart for $132? Or were they BFG Radial T/A's? I'm just curious. Damn, I'm calling Walmart tomorrow. I have a friend that just started working at the Goodrich Plant here in Indiana I need to get a hold of him, so he can get me a deal on some tires.

I bought the drag radials thru walmart...they ordered them in...took 2-3 days...no shipping and 10.00+ cheaper than summit.

As of now I'm running a 7.8 sec. at 92mph 1/8 mile, which is a low low 12 sec 1/4 mile. It would be sweet if the BFG's hooked better than the M/T sportsman Pros. I think I'll get the BFG's and see if they are any good. If I could get a 1.8 to 1.7 60 ft I think I might make my 11.99 sec. 1/4 mile goal.

I run two sets of tires. On the street for just cruising around I use the M/T Sportsman Pros 29x12.5. If I plan on going to the track I have a set of M/T ET Streets 28x12.5. Both are mounted on Weld Drag Lites 15x10 (5.5 bs).
Have not had either tire at the track but on the street the E/T Street hooks noticeable better than the Sportsman Pro.

I bought my BF goodrich drag radials through sams club. you could look into Mickey Thompsons new DOT approved drag radials, or Hoosier quick times.

I've got M/T 29 x 12.5 Sportsman Pros on my '72 and have run a best of 1.76 60'. 14psi and a pretty healthy burnout. This was during a bracket event, so track prep was probably pretty good. I never got below a 2.0 on a test and tune or street night, but I also didn't do the greatest burnout those times, either. Doing it with the stick took some practice!
