last vortec question I promise! Just to save time and money, can I bolt on a set of these on my stock 400 shortblock. Im curious if the stock 74 400 cam will cause too much cylinder pressure? The car runs great, just smokes on startup. thanks. jim

I think you still need to deal with the steam holes, and knowing that these have a small combustion chamber so your compression might be higher, but I think it would otherwise be OK. Use the self-aligning rocker arms too.

62 to 64 cc chambers on a 400 SB, yes, watch your CR!!

Ive got the steam holes covered. I really want to do the cam swap and all that at the same time. but Im starting another project, so im just trying to get the heads swapped. I think with the -22 dish it gives me around 9.5 to 1. this is the whole top end package I bought a couple weeks ago. rockers, valve covers, intake, heads, headgaskets, intake bolts. jim
