You either have a 1 wire alt or a 3 wire alt. You can't convert one to the other. Now there is a way to hook up a 3 wire so it works somewhat like a 1 wire. Do you have the 2 small wires that originally went to the factory alternator? No such thing. You either have a 1 wire alt or a 3 wire alt. You can't convert one to the other. Depends on the brand of alternator. Factory alternators are 3 wire only, Summits brand 1 wire alternators are 1 wire only, some Powermaster alternators can be wired either way 1 or 3 wire. | ||
