: Caster and steering effort

I don’t know what my current alignment settings are with stock components, and my bushings are completely shot.

I am rebuilding my entire front end and will be running fully adj. uppers from SPC. I plan on aligning it to +5.5° caster, -1/2° to -3/4° camber, and 1/8” toe in.

How will more + caster affect my steering effort? I really don’t like the “pinky” effort at the wheel. What is the max + caster that can be achieved with stock arms?

I plan on swapping the GC box one day.

Max with stock arms is usually 3* sometimes less, sometimes more (one I did I could get 5.5 on the left, but only 2.5 on the right)

Going from unknown "stock" alignment (never checked "before" specs before teardown) to 5.5+ caster without any changes to the steering components, there was a very noticeable increase in both steering effort and road feel. It was still way over-assisted, but it went from nothing to a little bit of feel and effort.

Thanks for the reply, Derek.
