: trunk tension rod help

does anyone have a picture of how the rod goes back together. it came back from the body shop laying in the trunk. any help would be appriciated.

This a 1969 chevelle, but I think there all pretty much like this.

There is really only one way it will go. And like rubadub picture shows there is a few different slots it will go into. The first one will just give your junk anuff to come up off the latch. But it may not hold it up. So you may need to put it in the second. And most of the time you should lonly need the last one if you have a spoiler on the trunk. Something with a little more wieght to it.
I am sure GM made all the trunk hinge assemblys the same for all 4 Chevelle, Skylarks, Cutlass and GTO. And some GTOs and Cutlass came with rear spoilers.
Oh! And a good way to put it back on is to slip a boxed in wrench around it and use it to pry it up into the slot.

I had to build the tool shown in the Fisher Body manual to get my rods back in. And even with the tool it was a son of a gun.
