Tom is that the plane you have been restoring?

No, but it is the SAME kind of plane (A-26). The black one has a bombadier nose and ours will have a nose with four .50 machine guns and a 20mm (or 37mm) cannon.
This is our plane BEFORE we started. It had a broken wing spar and we ORIGINALLY removed the (right) wing to repair the broken spar.
Well, one thing led to another (Kind of like "fixing" something on a Chevelle and it turns out to be a frame-off), and we are now into a TOTAL restoration!!

If we maintain a schedule that we have put together, our first test flight will be Sep 15, 2009.
Also, our new paint scheme will be silver.

By the way, the engine overhaul facility http://www.globalaircraftengines.com/Whitney.php picked up 2 of our 5 engines on Tue for a COMPLETE rebuilding.

Thanks for sharing that. The old piston aircraft of WWII are just awsome! If I ever win the lotto, my toybox is going to be a hanger with a fine selection of the old warbirds.
