I opened up my 396 and it is 60 over... I was told that 454's can be bored 80 and even 100 over...would this be possible on my 396?

More info is needed like yr & cast # of the block to ans your question.

For example,some very early 396's (1965/6 or so) could be bored to 427 cubes.

I got this info from a mortec.com -
3969854....396.......69......2 or 4 bolt
3969854....402.......70-72...2 or 4 bolt

I'm not sure what year mine is. It's a 2 bolt though. The man I bought it from said it was a 396
