Any of you guys ever break the bolt that holds the pin in the carrier?
Why would a spider gear damage the pin and lock up on the pin shaft and provoke me to go insane?
Any advice appreciated.

I have had that happen twice. Spider gear seized to the cross shaft. Caused it to turn and just snap that little retaining bolt. With C-clips it was a PITA to remove because you can not get the axles out to remove the carrier without that removing that broken off bolt first.
Been there done that.:sad:
