Hey guys, putting my motor back together (AGAIN!) and this time I'm using an aluminum, two piece, summit cover. My question is, when you use a two piece cover, because it has a very thinck flange, what timing pointer works? My "stock" style steel piece hits the balance when trying to install the balancer because it sticks out about an inch further now.

Thank you for your time!

I'd ditch the 2pc as most all leak and stay with a 1pc stock style.
Fixes the pointer issue too!

I really prefer a degreed balancer and needle pointer, and will use those on everything, except maybe a pure restoration, even if I don't spend the buck for a top greade SFI balancer.

I currently run a summit brand cheapy degreed balancer and thier house brand adjustable pointer, set to true TDC with a piston stop.
