Is there such a thing?
I have 2 sets of 3/8" rods but one set has a slightly bigger cap and it seem to have more material around the Big end than the other set.Theres also a Black marking on them.
Any ideas? graemlins/beers.gif

You can tell a BB truck rod b/c if you grab it by the beam, you can just about fit your thumb in the indentation just above the big end on the sides!!

The car rods are more triangular shaped in these ares on both sides..

U vs this /\ type a deal if you can picture it above the big end...

The truck rods are stronger and a very good street performance rod when aftermarket rod bolts are used. Have seen people run them in 550HP-600HP motors and hold up well. They are also called "thumb rods" because your thumb fits perfectly in the big end of the rod beam. They were used in most 454's from 1975 and up also used in tall deck truck motors in that era.

I am using a set of "truck" rods in the motor I am currently having built. They are a great compromise! Lay one down beside a 7/16 BBC rod and compare the sizes. They are very similiar in all of the important spots but, don't weigh as much. Make sure you put a set of ARP 3/8 Wavelocks in them, have them checked for straightness, then resized and you will have a really nice set of rods that will handle 550-600 hp. They are still reasonably plentiful so, find a complete set shouldn't be too hard to do. I would use them over a standard set of BBC 3/8 rods any day.
