So I was searching thru Ebay today and spot this 68 300, now tell me '68gurus.... Are those the correct door panels? It sure look like the car hasn't been messed with. Tan interior with green carpet? This sure looks like a car to study.
1968 Chevelle 300 Deluxe (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1968-CHEVROLET-CHEVELLE_W0QQitemZ270183310099QQihZ017QQcategoryZ6 164QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
The door panels are correct. The green carpet was probably added by someone after repainting the car that non-stock green . It should have a plain black rubber floor mat to be stock, but those things promote floorboard rust if water ever gets underneath them.
I see potential in that base 300.

He posted the VIN and you're right its a 300 not a 300 Deluxe. I find these cars fascinating, as they seem to be totally different birds from the typical Malibu and SSs. I see lots of potential too, but I dont think my wife does!

they are correct cause this is a 300 not a 300 Deluxe the 300 Deluxe was similar but the 300 Deluxe panels had a white stripe near the top of them with a chrome rectangle in the middle the read in cursive Deluxethe seats are correct with just a plain flat seat cover with nothing in them no ribs or anything they replace the original rubber with that carpet because carpet couldnt be had on the 300, but it was the 300 Deluxe that i believe it was optional on it for EC meaning extra cost, the steering wheel is correct for this car, wish i had the money i would buy this car i have a 68 300 Deluxe myself i yet still have to get a set of door panels at a cost of $700 from www.smsautofabrics.com (http://www.smsautofabrics.com) well hoped this helped you out, oh also above the glove box they did not have the chrome nameplate strip going across there it was just plain, Malibu, Concours and SS had this, if someone gets this car from this site, let me know cause i can help you find out alot about these cars just give me a holler classicamericanmuscle@hotmail.com now that i have the exterior of mine done i am so thankful as different parts are impossible to find unless you have luck i found most stuff from ebay ;)

i have these hubcaps but they have holes in the bottoms of them like somebody tried to take a cutting torch and cut them up but they look good if your standing back when the hole is facing towards the ground these are called dog dish hubcaps or center caps if you will and the wheels are just ordinary steel wheels that hubcaps would go on, i would love to get a 15x8 or 15x10 steel wheel for the back of a car and put the dog dishes on
