My car ran .01 quicker in the 8th with the new roller rockers over stamped rockers. The big difference was the fact that the air temp was in the 40's the last time I ran with the stamped rockers and close to 90 with the rollers, yes, I did rejet for weather. There is also a drastic difference in engine sound and the valves are much easier to set. I feel it was money well spent.

RR - Even if the ET was the same, a 50* temp change is worth roughly .15 sec in the 1/8 (on my car) probably .25 sec in the quarter. So he picked up some significant ET with a $200 rocker swap -- that's cheap IMO.

why not 400.00 for nitrous and pickup a full second or more? Seems much more cost effective or performance per dollar spent

I run N20...its not CHEAP!!!! That 400.00 kit ends up costing 8-900 easy with upgrades....then theres the expensive learning curve..lol. It costs me around 50 bucks to fill a ten lb bottle..around 6 passes per bottle..higher octane fuel while on N20...if I could pick up .01 in bad weather over a good weather pass for 200 clams...sign me up!!!!!

My car would have lost at least a .10 if not more with the hotter weather. With the stamped rockers, valve adjustment was a pain and varied too much which is why I changed. From my first run to my last run my ET changes about .017 on average with at least 7 passes in steady weather. And as far as the N2O goes, I love lining up with a n2o car in a bracket race and no it aint cheap horse power.

Personally I don't run nitrous, only thing its good for is street racing and heads up classes. There is a racer that uses nitrous in no/e though,on his 502 and it comes on in high gear only,he was track champion last year and runner up at another track. I do agree that running them on a solid cam is helpful, helps keep the lash in line graemlins/thumbsup.gif
