Does anyone know if T-tops are considered a convertible by track rules? I want to race my car this year and dont want to drive all the way to Gulfport only to find that my car wont pass inspection.
Thanx

T-top cars are not considered convertibles, but you will be required to have the tops in place when racing the car. This makes sense anyway, as the car is less aerodynamic with the t-tops removed.

Careful they dont blow off! My brother in laws recaro trans am regularly popped the drivers side one out, not right out but far enough you wouldnt want to have to hold it in down the strip!

I've always wondered if you ran slicks on a T top F body if it would be easier to twist the body and shatter the t tops?

Im sure it could happen, but some subframe connectors also helped my situation.

My 88 IROC-Z had T-Tops, but I used weld-in subframe connectors and never had a problem. Also, all the little rattles the car had went away. Best thing I did to the car from a ride standpoint.
