Hi guy's. My 72 Chevelle Malibu sits a little higher in the ass end than I like. I've seen some springs out there with a 2" drop. Anyone tried any? Any problems such as tire rubbing? Just a thought.

I put some Eibach 1.5 inch drop spring in the rear about a month ago, and with 26 inch tall tires, still have too much clearance for my liking. I can easily see the top of the tire. Hoping it will settle a bit more.

I have often wondered what springs my car has in back. I have 255/60/15s on the rear and the fender is just below the top of the tire.

On the rear of mine I'm running 275/60 R15. You can see in my pictures it just sits a little high. Just want to level it out a bit.

I know when I was a kid and we lowered trucks we used to just cut the springs....it worked fine.. at least you could get an idea of what kind you need that way. I know it sounds crazy..

Original Parts Group has some springs that lower anywhere from 1 to 3 inches front and rear. Here is the link http://www.opgi.com/product.asp?topcatid=28&chapterid=43&topvalue=0&newflag=0&grpcode=20141&yearrange=
As for cutting the rear springs, there has been much debate about if it is safe, and will it work, since the rears have the spring 'perch' that the small portion sits in.
