If he'll let you pay to have it magnafluxed for cracks and it's ok sounds like a steal to me. Even if you don't need it now you can let it sit till you do at that price. If it was close to me I'd buy it. Just make sure its not a tall deck and that it is a 454 block via casting number. 2 or 4 bolt who cares.
