I have a 1971 with a Th-350 ,it appears stock except the pan which says "Metric"on it.I am by no means a mech, and just have gotten into the hobby,so the question is it normal you hear a clunk and the car jump when you put it in gear, also it shift 1-2 ok,but the 2-3 shift is hard the engine revs higher which makes it appear to hesistate. I do not know when or if it was rebuilt but the fluid doesn't look or smell burnt. Is this nomal ? or does it sound like time for a rebuild or replacement ? Also whats the cost roughly of a rebuild on a th-350 ?:confused:Thank you in advance for our help.

Sounds like it's a 200 & not a 350.

Did a search you hit the nail on the head, only 11 bolts its a Th-200 Metric. As i'm told its to weak to handle hi torque plus a heavy car:sad:,but the good new its the same size and mounting location as a Th-350:thumbsup: so a rebuilt Th-350 will fix the problem. Thanks for the help.
