Hey guys:

I am in the process of piecing in my ne window channel as the old stuff is almost all gone. My question related to the glass install and the "flatness" of the channel-as I presume this could affect the weather seal. The shrinker/streacher puts ripples in the metal that I am concered about. Do you think it best to float the channel out with some sort of waterproof filler or is the tape able to handle these imperfections and seal properly? I would guess urethane would do OK but I have heard mixed results...

I would scuff it well and add some Duraglass or something to flatten it out.

You can add filler to smooth it out, but personally I think that the urethane will flow and seal most imperfections. Same with the buytl tape.
