Here's my 69 Chevelle four door hardtop. I bought this off EBAY 2 years ago to put my 454 & a 12 bolt in.I was originally looking for a 68 4 dr sedan, but got a good deal on this one.I drove 4 hours one way from Maryland to New Jersey to pick it up.I like the old car,I almost hate to make a HOTROD out of it.The 307 runs good still.I ran it at my local drag strip. It ran 17.28 & a 17.08! It's no speed demon, but it was still fun.
Right now I'm rebuilding the 454 to put in it.This motor ran mid to low 11's in a 66 ChevyII I used to own for 18 years.Sold the body to a friend, but kept the 454 & started looking for a 4 door Chevelle to drop it in.
Does BORLA make a 3" or 3.5" exhaust to fit a 69 Chevelle?

I like it I like it! Looks like you put 69 tail lights on it..still got the 68 tail lights?I originally wanted a 68 4 door, but this 69 came about fairly cheap,so I bought it.I wanted a 4 door sedan, but after owning this 4 door hardtop I really like..especially in the summer & all 4 windows are rolled down.I'm getting closer to getting it together.I've been gather parts for a while.Been shopping on EBAY a good bit too.Actually that's where I got my Chevelle(EBAY)...LOL!
My 454 block & crank are at the machine shop & my heads are at a buddys shop getting a valve job & some bowl blending.Just sunday I bought a pair of HOOKER 2 1/8 headers & 3.5 exhaust with flowmasters from a guy who races a 68 SS Chevelle. He gave me a great deal on this stuff. He originally wanted $200 for the headers with tailpipes that went over the rear and exited behind the rear wheels. He couldn't find the tailpipes,so he let me have the headers, pipes that put the mufflers back in front of the rear & the flowmasters all for $100!!! GREAT DEAL! Says he'll call me if he finds the tailpipes...got another shed to look through yet.I guess that he was Santa in disguise..LOL!Bought MOSER axels & a Eaton posi unit to put in the 12 bolt.I'm hoping to run low 11's on motor & low 10's on nitrous with it.It's a .060" over 11to1 closed chambered 454,with closed chambered square ports, and a 714 lift CompCams roller.
This motor ran 11.20's -11.40's in my 66 ChevyII with a Lunati (643/633) solid flat tappet in it.Hopefully with the roller cam & some bowl porting & gasket matching the 454 will run a little stronger.I'm sure the Chevelle will be heavier,so if it runs as good or better than it did in my ChevyII I'll be happy...not to mention I ran it on 93 octane pump gas....I can't afford Racing Fuel anymore, pump gas is high enough by it's self!!I'll keep you guys posted as it comes together.Heres a link to my photo gallery I've been keeping on this car.

If you are looking for 68 taillights I think I still have mine with an extra set of lenses. I need to call my friend where I left some of my stuff to see if they are still there. If I got em, you can have em, pay for shipping. I went wth the 69 lights as the 68's were too dim for the idiots here in Cali to see and didn't want to get rear-ended, came close a few times. Let me know if you want them and I will check to see if they are still around.

OK, Bench, they are still around, and they are the complete corners. They are not local so I will have to have my friend bring them back when he goes to the desert next, either this weekend or next for sure. Once I have em in my paws I can take em to work and box them up and weigh them and let you know how much. May be a couple of weeks so hope you aren't in too big of a hurry.

I took Buffy and brother to help with pruning in an orchard that's been growing free a few years. The poles (old "water sprouts") seem like they could make something interesting, so I brought the trailer. (Correct era hitch, with box saved, required no drilling or alteration of 71 Malibu.)

Trim pieces are in dry storage. 71 brocure shows a "Chevelle Chevelle" without rocker panel or wheel arch molding (gunk traps!) Headlight trims showed a little peeling, so I painted flat black behind them. Also flat black where grill was grey...Ok to play with because it had a few cracks. (Actually, I don't mess-with or modify this vehicle in any meaninful way.) Original wheels with 205/75 14 and original optional stainless wheel covers.

350-350 w/ 2:56 rear (can get 20 MPG, 15-17 typical if driving easy) Never had AC. Just power steering. Not a heavy vehicle. Doesn't load up in pokey driving, but step on it and "She walks"(well, er, not quite like much of the iron on this forum.)

All black interior w/ a little chrome trim on the door panels. Made adapter tabs to move front bench seat back about 1.5 inch.

Selling will be painfull, in part because of how well I know this vehicle mechanically. But other activities and vehicles compete for time and parking space.

I bought this 69 4 door last spring. It had been sitting for about 15 years. I wanted a Chevelle for the family to ride in while being fun.

The chassis is solid, it needed rear window work and new front sheet metal. The engine was a non running 307 with a PG.
I tore the car down, POR 15 the undercarriage replaced the body bushings. I overhauled and replaced the engine with a 350 from a 88 Caprice police car. I installed a high rise intake and had SMI rebuild the Quadrajet The police 700R4 was overhauled and installed in the 69. I used the steering gear to give it quick ratio steering. I installed a tach, gauge package, stereo, new upholstery and carpet. Many more parts were installed and repaired. The wheels are going to be replaced too.

The car is at paint right now.

Hi Guys

73-77 Chevelles are not the most searched cars , I know , but they are really affordable .

this car has the inliner six 250ci , no options at all except PS

it is in good shape , body is straight , engine runs strong ( if I may say so :D ) , I only have to reshape the interior , the seat covers are pretty shot .

Regards ,

Laurent
