: 840 bigblock head flow numbers??

hey guys i am wondering if anyone knows the flow numbers for gm's 840 closed chamber rect port heads??? or anything close to use with that so i cam use dd2k with some accuracy.
heres my combo
4.280 bore
4" stroke
6.135 rod
comp cam 294s cam 73 abdc timing, 51 abdc @.50
103 cc chambers( cc'd them last week)
kb 203 pistons .133 dome 12 cc dome volume
.020 deck height
.020 head gasket giving me a .040 quench
10.4-1 cr, 7.8 dcr, 180 cranking psi all per calculators
dart sdingle plain intake, bg 850 carb, th400 3500 stall, 9 inch rear 3.89 gear, let meknow, thanks alot, also anyone with a different program want to run the combo for me?? looking for power and tq numbers, as well as 1/4 mile /et estimates in a 3200 lb camaro

Go to ChevyHiperformance.com They have a database you can look at in the Tech Section of most Cylinder Heads. You may have to use the data listed under the 990 head, I don't recall if they actually had the 840 listed.

hey thanks, ya i checked them out they did not have the 840, only the 990, also the 840 is the cast version of the L88 alum, but the alum probaly flowed better, not sure, thanks

For your purpose, I would use the 990 data. The difference between any stock rec port will be insignificant. The benefit in rec ports doesn't show up until .600 lift and higher anyway. If you compare all the numbers for the iron rec ports in the .200 - .500 range they are all very close {when comparing flow data utilizing the same valve sizes}. Most are in the 310 - 320 CC intake port size. The big difference is in the raised port heads.
