uh, think about it. he's already milled the decks so the original engine code is gone. The only difference between a tri-power block and any other 4 bolt block is the engine code. in fact, that could easily be a 67 2-bolt 396 block with 4 bolt caps installed. once the stamped code is gone it's anything you say it is. Guy is fishing for a sucker, IMO. But, that's the resto Corvette game for you. Buyer beware and all that.

3904357 is a 427 block casting number. It is date coded for 1967. I am pretty sure that the only car that the 427's came in in 67 were the Corvettes. That is why it is so valuable. Tom,
Hate to differ with you, but there is no way it could be a 396 block with that casting number.
I found out about a year ago how much 427 Vette engine parts were worth. Rebuilt a 427/435 engine and paid DEARLY to replace a head casting.

Is he nuts? Heck no! He put down a $500 starting bid, not $1500. Everybody else bid it up to that much. I'd say he's lucky.

Hmmm...that's solidifying a thought I've had in the back of my head.

I've got an old TH400 in my shed that I've had since high school. Some guy gave it to me because it wouldn't fit on his Pontiac!

It still has the little tag on it, and when I looked up the numbers I seem to recall that it was for a high HP 327 engine. Now, I still think it's kind of wierd that a 327 had a TH400 behind it, but I *think* it is out of a Corvette from the late 60s.

I'll have to look it up again. Sounds like it's Ebay time for little Tommy. graemlins/beers.gif

Its at $2150 now(10:47pm) and the Reserve Has Not Been Met!
Good grief!
Is it just me or does it look like the cylinders have been o-ringed? Maybe thats where the machine work to take the ridges off left a mark? Kinda looks like o-rings though.
I have a 2 bolt #512 block in my garage thats dated late 1969...any takers? LOL!

The 3904351 is indeed a 427 casting, but again, without an engine code suffix, its just a block..could be from an Impala or a 'vette..just more overpriced junk from the land of ebay..I could see someone maybe paying $1500,but thats about it..and I speak from experience.I built my complete 454 for that much (current bid of $2500)
I understand the numbers game too(been there done that with 'vettes myself),but again,no suffix, and of course someone will restamp it.
