Hi, looking for a recommendation on a clutch and pressure plate set up for a 70SS/M22/410 resto. I've had several suggestions on Centerforce 2 set-up from Summit. (No plans to race the car) Thanks.

Centerforce dual friction best clutch I have ever owned, light pedal pressure all the grip you need for the street or strip.www.performanceintl.com

Ditto on the Centerforce Dual Friction. graemlins/thumbsup.gif For a street/strip ride, you can't beat it.

While I've occasionally heard bad things from Centerforce on the boards I frequent, I have never heard anything bad about Mcleod.

I am also running a Borg and Beck Mcleod in mine...they are the only ones that make a trick Pressure Plate that allows for the use of an 11" clutch disc on a 153 tooth flywheel that usually is only for the 10.5 clutch...more holding power with the less mass of the smaller flywheel...I have it...works great and for a B&B the pedal really isnt all that stiff at all.

I use the Hays 3 finger, Borg-Beck style, roller assist, street/strip clutch. Man was that a mouthfull! Plate part #31-212, disc part #40-212. It can really take a beating. Pressure plate and clutch disk will run you about $275. I think that is about $50 cheaper than the Centerforce, but I am not sure.

The only thing about the Centerforce dual friction is that its a bit hard, not as hard as a steel disc, but hard. The Centerforce II ( used to be called Gold I think) would be a better choice for a car thats not raced.

BTW, after ABUSING a Centerforce for 10K, including hard lauches using ladder bars, it looked mint. Hard to beat that. Be sure to resurface the flywheel, it'll chatter like heck with out.

I have abused my Centerforce Gold clutch for years without a problem. That is after I broke 6 Borg and Beck/Long Style "Red" Clutches. The Centerforce is easy on your leg too, with the 6 three finger clutches that I went through I broke the stock clutch linkage several times because the pedal was sto stiff.

Just to be clear on terms, is the Centerforce II the dual friction setup? I would go with the "Gold" one that Bob mentions, its a step below and a bit easier on things I should think.
