Just wondering if there is a way to do a local member lookup for the reason of starting a club sometime. Is there a way to seach by area to get a members list?

I'd be interested in this, too. I've seen a few guys from Buffalo here and there but it would be pretty handy if I could do a search for them based on loc.

from the forum home click User List
from the user list there is a Search Members button on the right
click the Search Members button and click advanced search.
from there you can specify a string in the location field and find users with that string in their location.

Yea...would be neat to network locally. In fact, it turns out that my 69 convertible used to be owned by joeyv69ragtop's neighbor. We discovered this after emailing back and forth. It's a small world. :beers:

By the way Joe, haven't had the car out for a few weeks, but when I do, I'll stop by.

That'd be awesome Bruce :beers:

I haven't seen that car since before you bought it. My dad and I always figured we'd be able to go visit the neighbor and see how this or that part went. I was disappointed when I didn't see it around anymore, but I was happy to hear it;s still local!

When I traveled for my company I used to "search" on the local members at the destination.

I did meet John Muha in LA (took me to some "pic-a-parts" in Sun Valley & a cool Mex. restaurant), Doug Garland (hooked me up with some 12 bolt rears and another steak restaurant) in Georgia, and I think his name was Mike in Salt Lake city (cool club for CD opening party & beers) , and Brian (beers & steak) in NC..

I did not have much luck in Boston, Florida, or Texas.

I would refrain from terminology like "hookup" tho. I always suggested buying the beers and to check out their Chevelle. :beers:

I mistook the term hookup from an old HS friend as meeting for coffee when she's in town.

shortly after she told me she was going to be back in town for a couple weeks and i was telling her how i recently got in a new relationship

her: "we should hookup someday"
me: "oh, what'd you have in mind"
her "i don't know the regular...kissing touching ***ing and ****ing"

i told her she was being inappropriate. I got an apology the next day.

Hey, I have been married for 22 years...last time a woman said "hookup" to me it was an Aunt asking if I needed help with my HoT Wheel track!

Either your new relationship is a keeper.....or, well... I just hope your new relationship IS a keeper.

Anytime that I stumble across another member from Vegas I'll try to touch base, whether by PM, email or within the thread. I've exchanged hello's with a dozen or so, sold, bought or swapped parts with half of them and have developed a couple friendships beyond just mutual Chevelle ownership. That doesn't count a few acquaintances that I later learned were also TC members.

I also make every effort to meet up with out of towners that make their way to Vegas. When Eric (forget TC name, something with va and bu), last years Optima Makeover winner, arrived in town for SEMA, I picked him and his fiance' up from the airport in my Chevelle. Spent considerable time with Enrique (Slowpoke70) and Wes Migletz, during CarCrafts AntiTour, where I also met BEAUX and Alan. Took Kyle (68YellowSS) and his ole lady for a joyride when he came to town to visit his dad. Spent most of PINKS ALL OUT weekend with Daryl Yost and his family, where I also took Jim (Fifty7) for a brief adrenaline rush of a test drive.

Spent nearly a week up at Mike Lewis' (Wolfplace). BlazerBob came down from Eureka, CA for Dyno day

I know that there are some that I am forgetting, but you get the point. Come to Vegas, I'll try to arrange a little face time, if not some seat time. Those of you that know personally, the latter is the kind of quality time that a guy can appreciate.
