 Night racing :D

They won't let us do that here.
They even try to speed things up when they think it be dark before the last match.

AZZBITES!!!

Nice run Lonnie! Hey what converter are you running?? I have a very similar combo to yours and am trying to decide on the 3.73's vs 3.42's.
Here is my basic set up:

69 Camaro
408 sbc
9.8 to 1
AFR 195's
RPM airgap
750 DP
1 3/4" Headmans
3" x pipe
xs274s
TH400 with 3500 BTE converter

What do ya think?? 3.42's or 3.73's???

Thanks, converter is a Coan 11" Pro Street, flash stall is 2900-3000.

I went with 3.42's cause I drive it everyday, I almost went with 3.08's. I couldn't stand my 4.10's for cruising, my tires are 28" tall.

Use the most gear that you can stand to tolerate on the street. If you never plan on using slicks, go 3.42 or numerically lower.

My ET's are identical with 3.42's and 4.10's, same combo and tires. Traction is more consistant now, but with A/C I added about 70 lbs to the car. I don't understand it, but I'll take it.

Lonnie , I planned on running 26x11.5 ET streets at the track. For the street it will be 315/35/17's Nitto Drag radials. I was worried I would have a hell of a time getting the 60 foots in the 1.6 range with the 3.42's but after looking at your set up it make me think different.
Shoot if you run a 28" tall tire and a little less converter I just might be able to pull those 1.6's with a 3500 converter and 26" tires. I think I will try the 3.42's .

Lonnie, I ended up trading an old 400 crank I had for a set of good used GM 3.73's. I will give them a try and if need be step down to the 3.42's.
