Here are some numbers from the tag under the hood up by the windshield driver's side.

I think they call this the cowl tag?

ST2 70-13637A28220 BDY
TR 755 B80 B9055 H PNT
02D214086940392

VIN: 136370A135196

70 - 13637 = 1970 malibu sport coupe

755 = Black fabric bench seat

B80 = roof drip moulding

B90 = door window frame moulding

55 H = Champagne Gold and I believe the H is a B which is vinyl top (black?)

02D = fourth week af February build date

the rest are just numbers that do not denote any options

"H" is dark gold on the vinyl top. ;)

Technically the tag is the Fisher Body Number Plate, a.k.a. trim tag, cowl tag, firewall tag.

As TonyZ noted, the rest of the numbers (body number, groups of numbers after the date code) are Fisher Body & GM tracking numbers for assembly and don't denote any options. Atlanta was the only 1970 plant that put the B80 & B90 RPO codes on the trim tag for some reason.

If your car has the original front inside door panels on it, there should be a build sheet glued to the back side of one of them.
