I'm putting together a 540 motor using a 502 gen6 marine block.I read an article in the the new Engine Masters magazine were it states that the gen6 502 block requires lifters that are .100 taller than stock lifters.Has anyone ran into this problem.I just got a new roller cam and kit and would hate to have to buy new lifters and push rods to fit.

Yes, I did. I had to machine down the lifter valley area so the lifter bars would clear. (I already had new lifters and this was the fastest fix).

i cut down my lifter boss to that block is a head ack its a different cam face then normal and a different oil pan then normal
