Vacuum secondaries only open when the engine tells them to when under load so I don't think it's possible...unless you drive the car at wot with someone clinging on for dear life in the engine compartment trying to look and avoid getting cut by the fan, etc.

You can wire a paper clip so that it bends when the vacume secondary lever hits it and bends it. Meaning when you install the paperclip remember where it was facing. Then after a W/O run, the lever that moves the secondaries open should of bent the paperclip. This way you would know if it opened up.

just put the clip on the rod that actuates the secondaries just under the vacuum pod itself, put the clip on just like a thick piece of paper, slide all the way up then when vacuum pulls up on the rod the clip will slide down.

If you take the carb off the motor, you can use compressed air through the primary side to see if the secondairies open and how much.

Steve Compressed air...

I can see disaster waiting to happen for someone who doesn't reduce the pressure ;)

Use a vacume guage to check vacume under wide open throttle. If the vacume is minimal things are working fine.

Haha sorry wasn't clear about the air. Hold the primaries open and blow air past the passenger side venturi. If you closely you can see the vacum port for the secondaries. It's inline with the booster and the choke. The passing air mimics the vacum in the vetnuri and will open the secondaries like normal.
