I just dropped my new 454 in my car tongiht. I don't know if you guys care or not but I had to tell you guys. Well it started out with the engine being a bi@$h to get in. Come to find out I had the truck oil pan. So I needed to disconnect the tranny pull it out and change the oil pan. Then it went back in fairly easy. Tall valve covers had no problem clearing the vac. assist.(surprised me)(will 236@.5 work well with vac. assist brakes?) Then on to the headers. I have super comp., and they required cutting the inner fenderwells for one of the primary tubes that had to wrap around the frame and up through where the inner fenderwell used to be. Starter is really close to the headers though. Actually so close that we had to saw off some of the stud on the solenoid becuase it was touching the headers and I didn't want it to ground to my headers.(solenoid is going to get too hot huh?) Went to go put in my new bigger rad. and electric fan and it wouldn't fit. the engine is forward so much more. So I am going to mount my fan as a puller.(will it cool enough?) Other than that it was pretty easy. I have about an hour left to do. So I will tell you guys when it is done if it is worth it. (positive it is!)I can't wait graemlins/hurray.gif

What year car? Why did you use/buy those headers that wrap around the frame? Yes,I believe you will have problems with the starter being so close to the headers. Most electric fans can be used as a puller or pusher. What kind of fan is it? Why won't the radiator fit? not a chevelle radiator? It sounds almost like you're piecing it together with parts you had laying around, sometimes it works, sometimes it don't.

What's this?
Someone else from BF?

Wasn't an I6 car was it?
I can't remember which, but they will move the engine either forward or back.

The engine is too far forward to fit in the radiator??? That's why more of you need a first gen. MONTE CARLO :D ;) With my fan and fan shroud out and radiator IN I can stand in my engine compartment  I'm swapping in a BB too, so I know what your going through, my car has been in the garage for 9 months now graemlins/sad.gif
