Just got my oil report back and it shows high signs of coolent in the oil. I had similar results last yr and i replaced the intake and head gaskets. I was wondering what test i could do to see where its coming from. The report said
potassium 101
sodium 350 these two would mean coolent in oil
copper 57
lead 125 these two would mean bearing wear
thanks,

You'd need to do a cooling system pressure check, so that you can track it down. You can get the tester kits at any number of places, shouldn't be too hard to come up with. Check your local auto parts store or Summit or Jegs.

One thing for sure, antifreeze and bearings don't mix. You could very well have a cracked head or block. I had a 2.8 that had a crack in the block in the valley area under the intake. Could take a lot of searching to find the source of the problem.

Do you have aluminum cylinder heads? if so, did you check them with a straight edge when you had them off to replace the head gaskets, to see if they're warped or not? If not, then they might be. With a straight edge along the head deack surface, you should NOT be able to get a .005" feeler guage inbetween the straight edge and the head at any point. The same goes for the engine block deck surface. If the heads are warped, then that is the cause of the coolant leakage.
Boy I never realized how many possible problems that oil analysis can uncover...interesting.

No i have iron heads. WOuld the tester be a radiator pressure tester?

How would i do the test so look for the leaks. I found out autozone rents them out.
