I was wondering if the PO2 Simulated Wire Wheel was an available option along with the SS package in 64. I have the standard SS covers, but have always liked the wire wheel covers. How about a part number? Anyone?

The PO2 simulated wire wheel covers-14" were an option on all 64 chevelle models. There are at least 3 different versions of that cover. 64-66, 67-68, 69-up that I know of.

Thanks, Thomas. I saw it was listed as available with "All" models in the 64 Facts and Features Manual, but wanted to confirm with someone.

Does anyone have the location and number I should look for in order to find the correct ones for 64?

TTT-
I hope some replys with the #s and differences/sizes/pics
I did not know there were 3 or more different versions?

I have some and would like to know what year/years they are for because I really have no clue.

Hopefully someone can post pics of the different versions for us also!

These are the 3 different styles/years and part numbers according to my parts book; numbers could be superceded by now...

More info from a parts book-
64 Malibu (S.S.) (exc. wire, chrome
wheels) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 3849435 4 29.50
64 Chevelle w/14" wheels (exc.
S.S., wire wheels) . . . . . . . . . . . 3840900 4 18.05
64-66 Chevelle w/14" wire wheels . . . 3834904 4 48.75
Think you can still get them for $48.75 :D

Thanks, Dale and Bill. This cap is on ebay right now, but no GM number.

The difference between the 64-66 and the 67/68 wire covers is more than just the center cap (spinner on the 64-66). The 67/68 is almost flat, whereas the 64 to 66 caps protrude more in the center. I like these wheelcovers and have a set for my 66 El Camino.

BillLGood site but I question the wire caps shown for the 70 Chevelle. Aside from the photo used being the same one for the 67-68 (photo file name chv002.jpg) my parts book doesn't show a wire wheel cover for the 70. Anyone know if there was one available for the 70? There are 2 shown for the MC (early & late) but they are 15".

I would say yes, but I would be more certain if I could see more of a side profile.

Option PO2 shows up in 1970, 71 and 72 as Deluxe Wheel Trim cover.

In 68-69 the Simulated Wire Wheel Trim Cover was option N95. The parts manual lists the 69 as 3957061 for 14" wire wheel trim cover. This # also listed for 69-70 camaro, 69-71 nova
994206 is part # for set of 4 simulated wire wheel covers for 71 chevelle with 14" wheels.
