I swapped my cam last year for a longer lift/duration Crane Z-cam and feal like my converter is on the tight side. I have a B&M 2400 curently that matched well to my old comp 270HR. I used to run a 10 inch 2800 B&M but cracked the housing a couple of years ago. the old 2800 felt like it would match the new cam pretty well. I know B&M converters are not thought of to highly for the most part. My question is what brand/stall should I buy?
My combo.
468 BB SRP/Manely rods with forged crank
10.5:1
GMPP aluminum 2.25/1.88 with a good bit of work done to the chambers, runners and pockets
296 Crane Z-cam HR 234/242 610/632
HP750 and performer RPM
12 bolt 33 spline with 342 gears
TH400 with trans-go
26 inch MT ET street radials

Since you're in Florida, call PTC. www.ptcrace.com
I recommend PTC and Edge converters to my transmission customers.
I think you'll be happy with PTC and they are in Alabama so you can get a converter pretty quick.

Thanks Jake. I guess I give them the combo and tell them what I am looking to do with the car?

I run a ptc and have had no problems. I have sent it back once for a restall and they have treated me well.

moneypit, your combo is real close to mine. I run the same GMPP heads (box stock though) on a 454.030 motor, same CR, Air Gap intake, 870 Carb. Gears though are 3.73 w/ 28" tire. My cam is a 233/236, .600/.610, 112LSA, installed at 108ICL. These are very close motors. My converter started out as a TCI 10" Streetfighter (approx 3500 stall). Had it tightened to a 10" low stall (2900-3000 stall). JMHO, I think 3000 is the upper limit for this gear range, your 3.42 w/ 26" tires is approx the same effective gear as my 3.73 w/ 28".
EDIT: just re-read your older posts. Our combos are quite similiar. Don't think you can go wrong with any 10" {3000} stall converter. You basically operate in the same RPM range as I do.

Thanks for the help guys, I was thinking 3000 would be close. My old converter was 2800-3000 and luanched the car pretty hard at the track but did not seem to slip to much crusing around.
