I'm sure it can if mild enough, but I'm wondering what "weak links" would be best to have replaced to make sure it lasts a little longer. My car is about 90% street and 10% strip, and I would say I am not too hard on it. But, I would like this to last forever if it can, and I'd also like to get the 10% strip up to 30% or so. This transmission works great and was rebuilt around 1000 miles ago. What I'm thinking for the motor build is a nice hyd roller setup with some rebuilt factory 049 heads and 10:1 CR, should be good for an easy 500 hp.

What I have in my summit "wish list" so far is a set of TCI bands and 36 sprag direct drum. Please let me know if I'm on the right track here, and what else I should consider. Also, I'd like to do the work myself, is this something I should even consider trying? If anyone could suggest a book, that would be great.

The 36 element drum is a good upgrade at over 450 HP, a stock band is fine, don't buy into the brand name stuff, TCi is just selling the same thing everyone else is.
The band in a TH350 is only used for engine braking in 2nd gear, so it isn't a very stressed part unless you are offroading with it.

Be sure you replace ALL the bushings in the TH350.

I have a build article here that will help you out.

I can also probably save you on the 36 element drum.
