about 70SS rear end codes, as to which codes
might mean which engine may have came in a car.

Did 66SS have many different rearends/codes that might
also help 66SS owners as to witch engine a car came with?

Can someone post the different rearend codes and witch engine again (might) a 66SS would have been built with?

No such connection between the rear & motor on 66's.

I thought I might ask just in case the experts wanted to tell something that folks dont know.

Except no 10-bolts in a SS car so those codes can be eliminated. In the GM Restoration Kit data supplied by GM for 1966 Chevelles, not even the 327/275 L30 got a 12-bolt. All non-A/C models came standard with a 3.08, A/C models got a 3.36 and 'Special Purpose or Mountain El Caminos with 3-speed got a 3.70 - all are 10-bolt gear ratios for 66.

Options non-withstanding, only the SS cars apparently came from the factory with 12-bolt rears. Of course, this is as of September, 1965.

Does anyone know of a 66 Chevelle 283/327 with a 12-bolt and paperwork?
