67Chevelle415 Oct 25th, 07, 7:10 PM First I'd like to say, thank you for an excellent site! I try to make time every day for a few hours of forum cruising to learn and check out everyones cars. Needless to say, I'm pretty impressed by how much you all know, and by all the beautiful cars, complete and otherwise, so I figured joining up was money well spent.
I finally (2 weeks ago) got my hands on my very own 67 Chevelle and I am beyond excited to get started on rebuilding her. She's an original Malibu 2 door hardtop except for the seat upholstery and 350 mill, and I plan on taking the necessary steps to clone her to a 396 SS.
Thanks again for the site, I look forward to learning a ton more as I start my long awaited project.
Michou :beers:

tatoodkelt Oct 26th, 07, 11:09 AM Welcome to the site! 67's have always been my favorite's. Havent been able to get my hands on one yet.
67Chevelle415 Oct 26th, 07, 11:56 AM Thanks for the hellos everyone.
Jason, Those pics of your Chevelle are gut wrenching, but glad you walked away unhurt. Was the Chevelle junked or are you rebuilding it with a different frame?

Rebuilding. It's gonna be a nice little winter project. I've had a few Chevelle's but never had the frame off. I'm going to take the oppourtunity to change a few things around so it'll be a whole different car when it's done.
67Chevelle415 Oct 26th, 07, 3:01 PM Right on, that will be a fun one. Glad you're gonna rebuild, thats always the better choice.

Yeah, I was trying to decide if I should pick up another one to drive untill I finish the rebuild or just go ahead and do it now. Almost bought a nice 70 last weekend but figured I'd put the same money into that that it would cost to rebuild the one I have.
67Chevelle415 Oct 26th, 07, 4:14 PM Yeah, thats a tough one. I'm into the idea of pooling whatever resources I have into what I already own, rather than going out and taking on something totally new that has who knows what already wrong with it. In a lot of ways its less stressful to me to know already what I'm up against.
Sgtpop Oct 26th, 07, 5:20 PM Welcome Michou. Congrats on the 67
Keep us up to date with pictures, good luck with your build.

That's the decision I came to as well. I didnt want a blue one any way, not the way I wanted to get a paint job though. :p
That's a nice looking truck in your signature by the way. Right before my accident I was about to pick up a 78 K5 Blazer Cheyenne for an off road rig. Gonna have to wait for that now. You should check out wwwfullsizechevy.com it's a great site for Chevy trucks! I have the same user name there. I think you'll like it.
67Chevelle415 Oct 27th, 07, 2:43 PM Thanks for the compliment Jason, I'm a member of that site as well, although haven't really spent much time there since wrapping up the rebuild on my truck last summer. And yeah, thats a hell of a way to change your paint job.. hehehe... I woudn't choose that route either.
