bought the gear drive from a friend, new piece.
the dowel off of the cam is much smaller than the hole on the gear drive(much bigger)i'm afraid that the gear after being tightened will slip from side to side because of the space from the difference in dowel and hole size,am i missing some type of bushing or something for degreeing?anybody else run and install this gear drive??
thanx

Exactly; there's a bushing that has either different offsets or a middle-drilled hole for degreeing your cam. You will need that, there's no way to trust it to stay put without it.

shane A $3.00,3 hole cam-bolt retainer plate.
You should be able to get the bushing kit pretty cheap too. ;)

The answer to the question of what holds the bushing in place is...Take a hammer and a punch and ping around the edge of the bushing and hole in the timing gear after it's installed. In just a couple spots.
