Anyone have good/bad experience with this part,Auburn Pro series differential 28 spline for a 8.2,3 series carrier? There's one available to me for $250.Isn't this the one with cones that people don't like?

I'm at a bit of a crossroads here. The carrier on my 8.2,2 series tolerances have opened up a little on the inside, which in turn is causing the Lock Right to disengage/reengage sharply.I need to check the springs also to be sure, the pin went back in easily.I've not decided what exactly to do here yet.Shim the locker, replace the open carrier,or go with the Auburn. One strike against the open carriers is the use of a gear spacer with the 3.73.

Don't want to put the 12 bolt spool 4.56 back in.

The Auburn is not worth the box it is packed in as far as I'm concerend, but it would probably be better than what you have. I would put a little extra money into it and get an Eaton. It will last a LOT longer and cause a LOT less problems.

Well,I know you definitely know what you're talking about, and that confirms what I've been hearing.
Thanks again,Freddie.

p.s.-I think there's a freebie carrier I can get like the one I have,so I'm thinking swap the carriers for now, then do a gear change on the 12 bolt.
