Hi guys. I got my battery hooked up today to test out lights, etc and to ping my starter....not ready to fire it yet. Anyways, I've got 2 major issues and I suspect it's the switch for both but before I take the dash down I thought I'd run it by you all.

First, my headlights don't go on at all and my dome light won't swith off or dim. It's a repro switch. Any tricks I can try?

The other problem is my starter doesn't stir when I attempt to start it. I checked my wiring and I'm pretty sure it's correct...heavy, lt purple wire on drivers side and lighter wire on pass. Battery in middle. I also checked voltage when attempting to start and I get nothing on the outside posts. 12v in the center. ;) It's the original switch in the dash that I cleaned up. Also, the starter is my rebuilt original one. Also, the engine harness gets very hot.

Thanks in advance!

Well...I just played around a bit and solved a few of my problems. I jumpered the neutral safety switch and the starter stirred. I grounded the headlights :clonk: , so I'm in business there. The only problem I still have is the dome light. It won't dim or turn off at the switch when the doors are closed. I'll keep playing around with that one too.
