Here are some pics of recent work on the windshield channel. The rear window is going to be much more work. More pics to come!

Nice work. Ya got any pictures of the work in process? I'd like to see how you patched the damage in the second pic.

Thanks, unfortunately I only took before and after pics. I made poster board templates and traced around the rot. I used 1 piece for the pillar and two for the dash to help maintain the shape.

Looks very nice! I have yet to get my windshield and rear window out of my Chevelle yet, but I already know I have to repair the passenger side A-pillar. I'm expecting the same thing on the driver's side as well.

I'll be doing it the same way. Cut out the rot and weld in the fresh metal.

I have the same problem with my winshield and rear window. The entire top section and bottom sections are eaten out. I would appreciate it if anyone out there did the entire rebuild or just scrap them and try for a new roof. I really don't want to trash and otherwise good roof. thanks.

my body shop has some preformed angled metal that is used for window channels. They totally rebuilt my window channel in the rear with this stuff. The top of the rear window channel was COMPLETELY gone (well, it was gone once i got done picking at it and cleaning it up). Turned out nice. I loaded on the POR15 to protect it from here on out

Everything was good until I took a putty knife half way around with VERY SLIGHT PRESSURE and the window split right down the middle.

Chris,
do you have any idea what the angle of the metal might have been to start out. I have 3 pieces of 1/2" x 1/2" angle iron, very light guage I was going to use. I can bend more or less angle but am starting off with 90 degrees or there abouts.
