Thinking about installing a set of autometer electrical gauges, voltage, water temp,and oil pressure. I would like to keep the warning lights operational if possible. Can I wire both up? If so how would I go about it?

This is not to hard. Many different ways to do this. Oil Press, Attach a " T " by oil filter or front of block " BB ". Now you can use two sending units. Water- Stock sender in Cyl. head, On my 70 driver I installed a Mech. sender in the intake near the thermostat..

I did the same thing for the oil pressure. I put a T in the block, connected the sending unit to one side and the plastic line to the other. Worked great. All the stuff you will need is in the plumbing section of your hardware store. Small brass stuff.
For the water temperature I put the sending unit that came with the gage in the other head.
