: Tuning questions

I'm tuning a friends car, just trying to get the most out of his combo as I can.
The car:
72 chevelle 462cid, performer intake and cam combo, big valve heads with a little port cleaning, w/turbo 350, 3.73
1st: I looked at was the timing, the timing is locked at 34 BTDC. I'm not sure how he did this, I'm not sure if he welded this thing or not. I couldn't see with the light I was working with but it won't budge.
2nd: the carb is a 750cfm double pumper, its got a plug in the back, instead of a power valve(the front has a 6.5).
here is my questions, since the car is a street car, I see no advantage to locking the timing down like he did. I understand why someone would do this, I've done this on my roundy round car, but I see no advanage on the street. what do you think? I have mixed feeling about the (pv) plug. I've search this website and came up with alot of good info. What do you think would work best? remember this is a street car.

How come "Chevelles" and "Drag racing" are not listed in your likes signature line?
