hey whats up guys my wipers only go half way up and i see sparks in the switch. do you think its the motor and switch or just the switch? thanks guys

Do they go half way up and stop? Or up half way, down, up half way, down, etc...

If your switch is sparking, it is either dirty or needs replaced (bad or intermittent contacts will spark)....has everything worked in the past?

I should add, give a thorough VISUAL INSPECTION of your wiring in and around that switch. You may have some loose strands of wire hanging out and shorting.

It is important to RE-DO the connections if that is the case. Do not just snip the loose strands and tape it up. SAFETY!!....:yes:

lol i like that but it only goes up half way then down then up half way.its had this problem since i bought it and ill try to inspect the wiring around te switch im just afraid to break the dash trying to get to it. thanks

sparks at the switch would indicate a bad switch or bad connection to same.

Unhook the motor from the linkage in the cowl area and move it by hand to ensure theres not any mechanical binding. Then you can also test the motor unloaded.

The halfway up/ halfway down problem is mechanical not electrical. The crank on the transmission just goes round and round, the linkage does the up and down. Take a look at the linkage, it's either put together wrong or REALLY worn.

The sparking problem is just scary. The other guys have it right. Take a good long look at that thing before you fire it up again.
