What is the max safe bore size of a GM MK VI 502 block? I know GM claims the stock 4.470 + .030 for a max of 4.500, but have seen engine builder selling engines with a bore of 4.560. Is that safe, or maybe 4.530? Unfilled block.

Todd if know one comes up with the answer tonite I will check tomorrow. A friend runs them. I do believe that the Bow-Ti will bore more than the std Mk-6 502.

As you know, every casting is a little different.
I'd have the block sonic tested...cheap insurance.

Bo tie 4.600 std should go to 4.560 but like was said check the walls. It appears they aren't as carefull with the std blocks.
