hi all, im looking at a 57 chevy wagon that has a 3 on the tree that is shot. anyone know what the length of one of these is compared to a m20 4 speed? the car is an orginal V8 car if that makes a difference.
thanks,

same length if it's a small shaft M20 but you must change the driveshaft yoke.

Sure about that????
I have a 59 3 spd in the shed-------quite a bit shorter than the muncie
3spd in my 64 chev pick-up is even shorter

The cases are shorter, but with the extension housing, they are the same overall length.

I think they are the same length.I had a slew of 55 Chevs back in the late 60's,used to always put a 4 spd in them.Don't ever remember changing a driveshaft, just the yokes.

In 58 they went to a shorter 3spd. I don't know exactly why but they did.

Thought so------the 59 PG front driveshaft is quite a bit shorter than the 3-spd shaft.
