I have the Total seal 2 ring gapless set now. In the process of refreshing engine.Any one using there new top ring gapless set Max Seal.National Dragester magazine has a article knocking them.

I hated every set of 2nd ring gapless rings I got from them; always smoked and used oil. Never tried the top ring type.

I do not use Total Seal Gapless rings in anything I do.
First thing most performance engine builders I know that are telling you the truth are opening up the second ring gap.
In fact, the OEM's are also using a wider second gap in a lot of applications.

Second, EVERY engine I have ever disassembled that had the Total Seal Gapless ring in the second groove had at least one & usually more of the gaps lined up.

Total Seal does have some excellent standard type rings but I have never seen any of the claimed HP gains & have had problems with high RPM oil control & crankcase pressure with the gapless rings.

I will admit that they do give really good leak down numbers though but then again, the engine isn't running when you are doing a leak down test :D
